"Volume III - Taurus and its Decan Constellations"

Taurus and its Decan Constellations.

Taurus

On the Denderah Zodiac, Taurus is seen as a Bull in a running forward position, but glancing backwards towards Gemini as if looking at something coming.
Since Taurus is seen as a netjeru in an animal form, therefore it represents a pure force of nature.
The Coptic called this Isis, who saves mightily.
Also known as Apis, who cometh.
It is also noted that some claim that this is the Station of Horus, and means coming.

In "The Witness of the Stars," by E.W. Bullinger, page 120 "The Egyptian Zodiac of Denderah already, 4,000 years ago had forgotten the truth to which the prophecy had referred, and called him (Taurus) Isis, i.e., who saves or delivers, and Apis, i.e., the head or chief."

Of interest is that as to Taurus it has no deity specified as representing it.    I propose that maybe the Earth is represented for it.

In the above image Taurus is seen with a sun disk on its back and preparing to charge on the Grand Temple, which is located above Decan 30.

As seen in the image above on the ESNE Plate 79, we find Taurus running and glancing backwards, except the sun disk is located above its tail.

On the upper section of ESNE Plate 87 shown above, Taurus may be running, and is seen glancing backwards, but here the sun disk is located above its horns.

The hieroglyphic origin is not noted here, but it is definetly a sign for a bull.    Likely this is the sign for Ka translated as "soul" or "spirit," which comes into existence when an individual is born.    It is believed that the ram-headed god Khnum crafted the ka on his potter's wheel at a persons birth.

    Demotic is Ka

    Taurus Sign

Cyril Fagan comments, "Taurus, the Bull, rose at eve during the lunar month of Khoiak.    Notably was this month in which the cattle were coupled, but the waters of the Nile receded enough to permit the oxen to be yoked and the land to be plowed.
When the Full Moon occurred in Taurus, the sun was in the opposite, Scorpius
."
Egyptian day 18, Gregorian: May 2, Julian: May 16, was the Full Moon Festival.

In the season Shemu II (Shomu, Ete) - Harvest, Harvests, the Summer.
The netjer of the season was Khonsu-Ra.

The month of Taurus, as seen on Calendar Dates the month dates as:
Tropical: Mar. 16-Apr. 14,
Gregorian: Apr. 15-May 14,
Julian: Apr. 29-May 28,
the tenth month was named Payni, Pauni, Chuntchat, whereas the Christian coptes called it Paona.
The netjer of the month was Heru (Horus), at Ramesseum: Horus (Konti), at Edfu: Horus (Hor-kent-kati), note Chuntchat mentioned above.

The star is in Pleiades, which is not a constellation, but a star cluster that is part of Taurus.    25 h or Alcyone is the brightest star in the cluster of Pleiades

On the Grand Temple the image seen below shows these deities which are located between Taurus and before Aries - Cassiopeia (Triangulum) and located above Decan 29-30.    It is very possible that the figure to the right holding the staff is Monoceros, which is positioned within the Taurus group.

On the Grand Temple image below, these first two deities are between Ophiuchus (in Scorpius) and Gemini-Taurus and located above Decan 32.    The figure to the right holding a staff may be Auriga.

On ESNE Plate 79 as seen above the figure to the right is a male figure (probably Auriga) holding a staff with a small Bull-like animal, and this sequences between what may be Gemini and Taurus.

Note that ancient Egyptians placed Orion before Gemini and next to Lepus as it is seen on the Zodiac of Denderah.

The "duat" or ladder to heaven through the "gate" formed by Auriga and Perseus above Orion, is found on the Nagada-IIC Wall Painting in Hierakonopolis, Egypt and the Rock Drawing of Tanum, Fossum in Sweden.

Perhaps this is the "gate to heaven" which equates to the DUAT of the Pharaohs, a "Gate to the Underworld."

Select one of the following to open it.
