Virgo and its Decan Constellations.

Centaurus

On Denderah Zodiac, Centaurus is seen as a small jackal standing on the circle enclosing Libra.
Since Centaurus is seen as a netjeru in an animal form, therefore it represents a pure force of nature.
Normally seen as a wolf, Anubis (Egypt. Anpu, Ano-Oobist) a son of Nephthys and either Set or Osiris.    Seen as a jackal or jackal headed man.    Anubis is associated with embalming.
Also worshipped as "Wepuat," "Opener of the Ways," and also called Apuat.    He is sometimes seen with a rabbit’s head, conducting the souls of dead to judgment and monitored the Scales of Truth.

As seen on "http://home.main.rr.com/ imyunnut/Den.Round.html" by Joanne Conman, "The small jackal on top of the disk (of Libra) is not identified.    It may be a pun for the word 'star.'    It may refer to an entrance to heaven, which is located in the area around Libra, by marking the place with the jackal or wolf god Wepwawet (Apuat) or 'Opener of the Ways.'

As for Centaurus on the Grand Temple as seen in the image below the figures to the right have been damaged, but may include images (unseen) of Corvus, Crater, Bootes and Centaurus located above Decan 3-5.    This image is located before Virgo and precedes Coma, and to the far left we see two deities, then we see Leo Minor (an image also seen on the upper section of ESNE Plate 87).

In "Gospel of the Stars," by Joseph Seiss, page 57, he believes "Ara is the throned human figure wielding the flail, the implement of threshing and bruising, and that figure at the same time is set over a jackal, often identified with the dragon."

This wolf-like figure is seen in the Denderah above the head of Ophiuchus and standing on the circle of Libra.    This may also be Centaurus.

Centaurus also has claims, "Elsewhere, the Centaur fights Lupus, the wolf, which is a symbol of the material beast, Anubis, thus giving his meaning to the Centaur."

Denderah Decan 34 seen above does have a wolf headed figure on it.

In "The Witness of the Stars," by E.W. Bullinger, page 40 "Centaurus is known as the Hebrew Asmeath, meaning sin-offering (Isa. 53:10), and also the Greek Cheiron."

Grand Temple Decan 23 is a male figure with a wolf or jackal head, no crown.

    It is called     Akhouy.
