Cancer and its Decan Constellations.
Mercury
On the Denderah Zodiac, Mercury is a male figure (face undetermined) facing Cancer and has the Egyptian waas scepter in his left hand. He has a white star either above his head or for a crown. Above the star is a hieroglyph shaped like a serpent with a brightly shining head or maybe just a u-shaped figure. It is possible that this is a hieroglyphic name, but it is undetermined. |
In the image below as seen on the Grand Temple these two deities, the first being Jupiter and the second is Mercury, both are standing on a boat which is Argo Navis, all located between Cancer and Canis Major (in Gemini) and seen above Decan 37. ![]()
One-source states, "The second outcome is through Virgo who shows the way with the light of wisdom (Mercury) held toward the Kingdom of Heaven. This route will result in no more judgments, for it passes through the ‘ancient of days.’ Being born of the Virgin will lead the child on the balance to become a Prince of Peace (Leo Minor) in the Kingdom of Heaven."
Mercury is standing near Virgo’s spear of wheat or ear of corn; some say it is a light, at the side of the constellation of Cancer.
Mercury is seen as:
Hebrew Kokah, but is called Neba, the tutelary deity of Borsippa (Isaiah 46:1), shown in the sky as Mercury.
