Cancer and its Decan Constellations.

Cancer

On the Esne and Denderah Zodiac, Cancer is a sacred beetle, with eight legs and two pincher arms and is called in the Coptic Klaria, which means cattle-folds, others call it the Folds, or the Resting-places.    Since Cancer is seen as a netjeru in a Crab or Beetle animal form, therefore it represents a pure force of nature.
It seems to be traveling in the opposite direction than it’s surrounding figures.    It has been acknowledged that in 10,500 B.C. a Precession Wobble took place during the time of Leo, which may have some significance on why Cancer is facing in the opposite direction.    This shift in the axis would make the sun appear to be moving in a new direction.    This Precession Wobble will also occur again in the future age of Aquarius, therefore affecting the opposite Capricornus.
The scarab beetle god, Khephri, was responsible for rolling the Sun across the sky, just as an actual scarab beetle rolls dung balls over the ground.

Cancer can be seen as in the above images on the Grand Temple located above and before Decan 1 (seen climbing up towards Leo) and on Decan 37 (shown turning and moving in the direction of the rest of the constellations).

As seen on ESNE Plate 79 in the above image is its rendition of Cancer.

As seen on the ESNE Plate 87 in the upper section we find this image of Cancer.

Cyril Fagan comments, "Cancer rose after dusk during the lunar month of Mekhir (Sun in Capricornus), the month of the winter solstice, when the sun sank to its lowest elevation (declination)."    This reflects on the dual beetles (crabs) one climbing and one moving in the natural flow of things.

The hieroglyphic origin for this is a Scarabaeus beetle (sacred beetle).

    Demotic

    Cancer Sign

In the season Shemu IV (Shomu, Ete) - Harvest, Harvests, the Summer.
The netjer of the season was Khonsu-Ra.

The month of Cancer, as seen on Calendar Dates the month dates as:
Tropical: May 15-June 13,
Gregorian: June 14-July 13,
Julian: June 28-July 27,
the twelfth month was named Mesori, Mesore, whereas the Christian coptes called it Mesra.
The netjer of the month was Heru-Khuiti, at Ramesseum: Horus (Hor-m-kut), at Edfu: Horus (Hor-ra-m-kut).

Egyptian day 8, Gregorian: June 21 and Julian: July 5, is the Summer Solstice.

The star is in Canis Minor (Procyon) and Canis Major (Sirius), the sitting cow which is before and under the lion of Leo, whereas the "Bow Stars" of Argo Navis (i.e. a Canopus) who is below and between Leo and Cancer would seem more appropriate.

In the image below as seen on the Grand Temple these two deities, the first being Jupiter and the second is Mercury, both are standing on a boat which is Argo Navis, all located between Cancer and Canis Major (in Gemini) and seen above Decan 37.

Khephra (Keper) is the creator-god (Heliopolis) a form of Ra.    It is also the word for "scarab beetle," or dung beetle, considered symbolic of the sun (as in rolling a ball of dung) and as the sun god propelling the sphere of the sun through the sky.

One source claims the Egyptian hieroglyph equals "hand" i.e. YD.    The Sumerian UK...KU... and the Sanskrit KARKA.

In "The Witness of the Stars," by E.W. Bullinger, page 147 "In the ancient Denderah Zodiac it (Cancer) is represented as a Scarabaeus, or sacred beetle (emblem of the resurrection of the body).    In the Zodiac of Esneh and in a Hindu Zodiac (400 B.C.) it is the same."

"The more ancient Egyptians place Hermanubis, or Hermes, with the head of an ibis or hawk, as the symbol of the sign now allotted to Cancer."

"The Denderah name is Klaria, or the cattle-folds and in this name we have the key to the meaning of the sign, and to the subject of this chapter."
