Leo and its Decan Constellations.
Crater
On Denderah Zodiac below the middle section of Leo, Crater is known as in the Greek as Her-ua, the great enemy, and is seen as a woman with a plumed headdress whom is sitting on a chair holding up vials in each hand, in preparation for something. Some sources claim that its 13 stars represent judgment. |
![]() As seen above on the Grand Temple located above Decan 3-4 is an area that has been damaged, which may include the figures for the unseen Centaurus, Bootes, Corvus and Crater. The cup of wrath is poured out on him. One-source states, "The vials of Aquarius are the vials held by the mother (Crater) under the Lion (Leo)." Note that the opposite of Leo is Aquarius and the mention of vials.
"The vials of Aquarius are the vials held by the mother under the lion (Crater)." Crater is seen under Leo, the opposite of Aquarius.
In "The Witness of the Stars," by E.W. Bullinger, page 167-168 "Crater is the cup on the body of Hydra."
In "The Witness of the Stars," by E.W. Bullinger, page 163-164 "The Lion is presented treading down the Serpent. The Bird of prey is also perched upon it, while below is a plumed female figure (Crater) holding out two cups, answering to Crater, the cup of wrath." "The woman’s name is Her-ua, great enemy, referring to the great enemy for which her two cups are prepared and intended."
As seen on "http://home.main.rr.com/imyunnut/Den.Round.html" by Joanne Conman, "When the stars of Leo rose heliacally (before sunrise), the land of Egypt was drowned in the river. That is why the two goddesses associated with the flood, Anuket (reference to Crater) and Satet (reference to Argo Navis) are directly beneath Leo. These two goddesses together with Khnum formed the Great Triad of Elephantine. They were seen as the guardians of the Nile and were responsible for dispensing its waters in the annual Flood. Their position on the round zodiac coincides with the decan stars that rise heliacally (just before sunrise) at the time of the flood. |
