Volume III - Israel And The Middle East
This file created on August 22, 2003 is a Volume III continuation of that which originated from the Volume II file 12/31/1995 "1999-2010 ????? Unknown Future of the Fifth group of Twelve years" seen at http://www.mazzaroth.com/ChapterEight/FifthGroupOfTwelveYears.htm.
As you can see by the name of this file "Israel And The Middle East," it exudes with the precept of "us" against "them." What will be the unifying factor that will bring to light a method for a Middle East Peace process in the fifth group of twelve years 1999-2010?
Who will be the One World Political Power or symbolic 10 region entity, that will allow the nation of Israel to be forced or persuaded to accept a compromise peace guaranteed? Will this be the beginning of the three-and-a-half years of peace? It would have to allow Judaism to be revived, and the Temple must be eventually rebuilt (see Dan 8:14; Rev. 11:2) for this to take place.
Some scholars believe that the "Prince of Rosh" or "the king of the North" (Ezek. 38:14-17; Dan. 11:40-45; Joel 2:1-10,20) will invade Israel and be mysteriously destroyed? I believe this event has already happened as seen in Daniel and Ezekiel prophecies.
There is not a whole lot an earthly oriented person can comment on Israel and the Middle East, the only thing that seems to be a sure thing is peace would seem to be an impossible feat. The more players that get involved with the conflict the worse the conditions seem to get. It will require some form of Divine Intervention in order to change the hearts of all who hold Jerusalem so dear, and cannot change at present.
I have tried to detail some aspects of the Bible regarding the rebuilding of the Temple as the unifying factor in the resolution of the disputes. God almighty will intervene in his own time to set this in motion. See The Third Temple for more information on this subject.
Daniel 9:27 "And he (symbol of the antichrist) shall confirm the covenant with many (Israel) for one week (choice of literal or symbolic seven-day/year/undefined period of time treaty); and in the midst (middle or half that time) of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (break the covenant), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate (defile the sanctuary of God), even until the consummation (Heb. kalah, a completion, end, be finished), and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
If the above translation from Daniel is true then the Jewish people will make a covenant with the antichrist (Dan 9:27; Rev. 13:1-10, first beast with seven heads and ten crowns, which the world wondered after), which will allow them to rebuild their Temple, reinstate animal sacrifice and eventually accept the False Prophet as the Messiah (Rev. 13:11-18, another beast that promotes the worship of the first beast). This is also referred to as the "end of the time of the Gentiles."
Also seen in Daniel 12:11, "From the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days."
- This is slightly more than 3 1/2 years.
- Some assume this to mean 1290 years also which is 43 months as in the 1260 days of Revelation 11:3 "two witnesses to prophecy" and 12:6 "the woman fled into the wilderness" which equates to 42 months which is 3 1/2 years.
- Most theologians believe that the 3 1/2 years is symbolic and means the "middle of completeness" bearing in mind that 7 represents "completeness" or 2520 years symbolically.
As found in Volumes I and II of "The Alpha and the Omega," I promote a correlation between the last Six Days or Ages of the Zodiac. This is seen below as the Astronomical connections to the Age of Aquarius from the continuation of the Age of Pisces.
- In Cancer man lost Eden and spiritual innocence.
- In Gemini man lost longevity;
- In Taurus man lost a universal language followed by great confusion.
- At the point of Aries and Abraham's sacrifice, God set in motion a plan for salvation. Thus, in Aries the Old Testament (Ten Commandments) resulted in the building of the First Temple.
- Then in Pisces the Second Temple and the New Testament Gospel evolved from the Messiah Himself.
- Therefore it would follow suit that in the Revelation that a Third Temple would follow for the final stage of the plan for Salvation and the Second Coming of the Messiah in Aquarius.
In Luke 21:24 he implies that one day Jerusalem shall cease to be "trodden down by the Gentiles" (Rev. 11:2), as then by Pagan, so now by Mohammedan unbelievers, and future at the "completion" of "the time of the Gentiles," which from Romans 11:25 one can conclude as the full time of a Church age. At which point the Jews will again be "grafted into their own olive tree," one Church of Jew and Gentile together.
- Matthew 24:15 "So, when you see the horrible thing (the abomination of desolation) (told about by Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 12:11 the prophet) standing in a holy place. Take note."
- Mark 13:14 "When you see the horrible thing standing in the Temple (standing where he ought not) -- reader, pay attention."
- Luke 21:20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that the time of its destruction has arrived."
- 2 Thess 2:3 ...."and then the man of rebellion will come--the son of hell."
- 4 "He will defy every god there is, and tear down every other object of adoration and worship. He will go in and sit as God in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God."
- 5 "Don't you remember that I told you this when I was with you?"
- 6 "And you know what is keeping him from being here already; for he can come only when his time is ready."
I have also promoted that in Jerusalem the Temple will rise again as Revelation 11 focuses on the events yet to occur as seen below: (after 1260 days or 42 months of trampling - 1260 symbolic years / 42 months = 30 x 72 years = 2160 years + 70 A.D. destruction = 2230 A.D.; also see Dan. 8:14 2300 days).
- Twenty-three hundred days literally must go by first--this is 2300 days or 6.3 years or 328.6 weeks (see Daniel 8:14).
- In Rev. 11:1-2 the Temple will rise again after 1260 days or 42 months of trampling. The 1260 symbolic years divided by 42 months equals 30 then multiplied by 72 years (one degree of the zodiac) equals 2160 years a zodiacal age.
- If one adds 2160 years to the date 70 A.D. the destruction of the second Temple it will equal 2230 A.D. Now it is a strange coincidence that 2300 symbolic days or years minus the 70 A.D. equals precisely 2230 A.D. also see Dan. 12:7,11.
The following are highlights of the six world views of mankind as to what Revelation 11 means regarding the Temple (i.e. rebuilt on the Temple Mount).
Revelation 11:1 "AND there was given me a reed like unto a rod; and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein."
Revelation 11:2 "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles; and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."
- Futurist Premillennialist;
- They believe it is literal (rebuilt during the tribulation).
- Holy of Holies belongs to God but becomes the home of the idol of the world ruler.
- Reed is 10 feet long, and man comes short of the divine standard.
- The outer court of the rebuilt temple is given to the Gentiles, for a literal 42 months, the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation period (see Luke 21:24).
- (Cyclist) Recapitulationist:
- God measures the faithful Church but not the unfaithful portion.
- It has fallen under the influence of the nations, the spirit of the world for 42 months or 3 1/2 years.
- (1/2 of 7) is the entire period of the Christian Age.
- The Church is measured by the word of God.
- Continuous Historical:
- The Church (temple 1 Cor. 3:16), altar, place of worship to be measured by reed - word of God.
- Corrupted Church to be compared to divine standard (had been measured by Councils, Popes, Synods, Conferences, and creeds) but the standard is the New Testament.
- In AD 1517 Martin Luther nailed his thesis to the Church in Wittenburg that the Bible is the only rule of faith and practice of the Church.
- 42 Months equals 1260 days which equals 1260 years.
- Idealist Generalist Philosophy of History:
- Measuring the temple is equal to setting it apart. Protected from harm.
- Sanctuary is accepted while the court is rejected.
- John sees the temple which no longer exists.
- It represents the Church all who worship him are measured (protected) and the outer court is the false Church.
- The Church is now God's temple.
- Outer court is taken over by the world for 42 months (the length of the Gospel Age) the Holy city is the False Church.
- Historical Background:
- Measured temple equals true worshippers that Satan can not reach because they are measured (protected) true spiritual Israel preserved by God in troubles ahead.
- Holy city is spiritual Jerusalem and will be trampled for a limited time only, a broken period of time in trial and persecution.
- Preterist:
- Measuring the temple done to see if it still measured up to what it had been built for (compare to a building code). Does it meet requirements?
- The temple was found to be archaic, of no further use in God's service and destined for destruction.
- The kingdom had been in place for 35 years.
- The altar obsolete since animal sacrifice for sin had been paid for by Christ's perfect sacrifice with sins forgiven under the new covenant and former sins "rolled forward."
- Unbelieving Jews continued to worship by Mosaic Code but all this was condemned for destruction (Roman legions).
- The outer court given to the Gentiles to tread 42 months of the siege.
Jerusalem, the city is so central to all faiths that it is going to be a tough issue to resolve.
- (Christianity) - Christians pray at the Tomb of the Holy Sepulchre (i.e. Church of the Holy Sepulchre), where tradition says Christ was buried, after being crucified, and then resurrected to redeem mankind's sins. Jerusalem is where Christianity was first proclaimed.
- (Judaism) - Jews pray at the Western (or Wailing) Wall, all that remains of the Second Temple built on Mount Moriah after the return from exile in Babylon, in Jerusalem, which serves as a big outdoor synagogue.
- (Islam) - The Dome of the Rock, which Muslims believe Muhammed ascended to heaven from the stone now enclosed by this dome. This is the plateau on the Temple Mount above the wall, known as the Haram al-Sharif, or noble sanctuary. It also has the Al Aksa Mosque, the third-holiest site in Islam. Both Jews and Muslims share the belief that the rock itself is where Abraham prepared his son for sacrifice.
Jerusalem -- Suleiman the Magnificent, the Ottoman sultan, built these walls in 1538 -- rebuilt them, really, from the stones left behind by Romans, Jews, Muslims, Byzantines, Crusaders, the Arab armies of Saladin and the Mamelukes. They are walls that enclose sites holy to the three great monotheistic religions.
That well-know fact places Jerusalem at the very heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an issue so difficult, so sensitive, that until now, peace negotiators simply put it off. The city, and the idea of it as a capital, is a central icon to both sides.
Todays negotiators are trying to imagine the unimaginable, a truly united (or fairly divided) Jerusalem.
From 1948 to 1967, Jerusalem was a divided city - half Jordanian, half Israel. Then in the 1967 war, Israel took over all of Jerusalem and the West Bank, its triumphant army chaplain, Shlomo Goren blew his ram's horn at the Western Wall. This gave Israel possession of Jerusalem for the first time since the Romans expelled them from the city in A.D. 135. Israel did their thing after that, and Arabs did not like it. Thus we are where we are today.
One thing is sure is that no matter what happens, Jerusalem is the site of events that will take place on the "Day of Judgment."
As you read the events of the present, I would like you to envision children on a school playground fighting over who gets access to the playground equipment. The teachers are trying to get the children to play together, take turns and share the fun. The inner turmoil of some children, possibly spoiled, desperate to be first or have it all, continually causes outburst and disorder in the play time. The teachers are sometimes overwhelmed and limited on what actions they can take. They all are waiting for the higher up principal to step in and set it straight. The question is, "Which principal will they choose to obey when that time comes?"
In light of what you have read above, now lets see what has been happening in Israel and the Middle East in 1999 through 2010.
